With 2,400 square miles encompassing Pennsylvania’s Carbon, Monroe, Pike and Wayne counties, the Pocono Mountains region is home to rolling mountain terrain, breathtakingly beautiful waterfalls, thriving woodlands and 170 miles of winding rivers. Winters offer guests the opportunity to ski, snowboard, snow tube, and even snowshoe their way through snowy wonderlands encompassing over 163 ski trails, while summers also cater to the active traveler allowing exploration of 261 miles of hiking and biking trails, over 35 golf courses, white-water rafting, boating, fishing, and open access to nine state and two national parks.
Any time of year is a good time to visit the Pocono Mountains, located within driving distance of most major East Coast cities. This region teeming with history offers year-round cultural tours and art exhibitions, abundant antiquing and brand-name shopping, and a full calendar of festivals showcasing the heritage, music and food of the Pocono Mountains.
Even the most discerning traveler will find comfortable accommodations in the Pocono Mountains, which offers an eclectic mix of luxury hotels, distinctive boutique properties, and quaint, family-run bed and breakfasts. The Pocono Mountains welcomes families, couples and business travelers.
The Objective of this Media Trip is to showcase the Farm-To-Table dining in the Pocono Mountains as well as the outdoor recreation and history that is available to visitors in the four-county region.
There is a lot of walking planned for this MEDIA tour. It is strongly recommended that each journalist have comfortable footwear and confidence in their mobility.
Up to $200 will be credited.
–Writers flying in on the day the media trip begins and out the day it ends will be transported to and from the airport by the hosts. Once the hosts know where everyone is flying from they will recommend the airport they should use and the times they’ll need to arrive/depart.
Up to $100 will be credited.
–Writers should submit receipts for their ground transportation and hosts will provide the refund credit.
What will be included in the trip:
Single room hotel accommodations, meals, admission price to attractions, luxury coach transportation with a professional driver between sites/hotels/attractions.
Number of writers that will be accepted:
Maximum 13 and no guests.
No Pre- or post-trips offered. We will work with media interested in extending their stay in developing an itinerary and offering media rates if applicable.
