I couldn’t decide what I wanted to be when I grew up. After graduating from Walsh University, I taught Spanish, English, drama, and journalism before eventually realizing what I really wanted to do was write. An editor at CNN told me I was a good writer but that he couldn't hire me because I had no experience, so I started writing, editing and doing public relations for clients that included Nevada Power, US Home and the Clark County (NV) School District. A few years ago, I decided I needed another degree and earned an MFA in creative writing from Murray State University (KY). When Mike retired, we headed back to Las Vegas, and I founded The Las Vegas Memoir Project. I currently teach others to tell their stories. In addition, I am managing editor of BLVDS Magazine. Recommended for an 2014-15 Fulbright Fellowship by the CIES peer review panels, I am a member of IFWTJA, NATJA, Association of Writers Programs (AWP), The National Association of Memoir Writers (NAMW), and The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi. When I come up for air, I drag my husband to Italy so I can do research for a book I'm writing about my Italian grandmother’s journey and legacy.
